Job Description

Emergency Medical Technician or Patroller On Snow Ski or Snowboard

Sign on bonus up to $500 dependent upon experience and commitment of schedule paid in 2 installments.

Summary: On Snow Ski Patrollers assist in the overall management of slopes, trails and base areas at ski area. Above ski or snowboard around area, ensuring that users are following their duty as skiers and snowboarders, provide first aid and emergency response, and have the opportunity to improve your own ski or snowboard skills. Responsible for assisting guests with medical and safety issues by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Assists guests with medical issues and emergencies. 2. Participate in accident investigations. 3. Assists mountain operations in daily trail maintenance as well as opening and closing. 4. Assists mountain operations with daily tasks as necessary. 5. Stays current on daily mountain reports and general mountain information. 6. Maintain cleanliness of equipment, transport packs and first aid room, and restock supplies used after each "incident." 7. Attend in-house training and outside training sessions as required to learn new techniques and maintain current skills. 8. Performs other related duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates and Licenses: Certified EMT or hold an Outdoor Emergency Care card, Wilderness Rescue or higher CPR or AED certified National Ski Patrol member or ability to obtain preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Be an average skier or snowboarder. Customer service skills Oral communication skills Professionalism Time management skills Ability to perform lift evacuations Ability to remain calm during emergencies

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Availability:

Flexible but must be able to work some nights, weekends and holidays. Full Time, Part Time hours available.
