Duties: Support Database Platform Infrastructure. Perform installation, patching and upgrades to Database systems. Perform basic run the engine task, complex installations, upgrades and license verifications. Plan complex upgrades, monitor Fault detection operation and troubleshooting. Perform operational monitoring, including system space and resource utilization, security monitoring, and performance tuning. Conduct analysis and capacity management for the data backup and recovery environment including Business continuity planning. Apply process and architectural improvements to continually improve availability and capacity, and performance of database Systems. Provide root cause analysis of production issues, investigation and implementation of security initiatives. Develop partnerships with business and technology colleagues as well as external vendors. Communicate appropriately and efficiently with management, customers, and vendors. Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements. Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related quantitative discipline and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or as a Database Administrator/Developer, or closely related position. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in specified fields and five (5) years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in a position specified above. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. Full term of experience must include utilizing: Oracle DB Administration to install, configure and manage all database, clustering and storage management tasks; Utilizing Database tools such as TOAD, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Pump, SQL Server Management studio, RMAN to define, analyze and design applications to achieve functionalities; DB Security & Risk to protect databases and the associated network links against compromises of their confidentiality and integrity; Utilizing UNIX and shell scripting to create files or scripts that support database development; Utilizing Oracle PL/SQL, rundeck & chef to automate database administration tasks; SQL Developer, Oracle Data Guard, and Cloudera Manager to manage and monitor Oracle and Big Data Eco Systems; and Hadoop Administration to plan, install, configure, maintain, and monitor Hadoop Big Data Clusters. 40 hrs/wk.
